Meet Eddie

For Eddie Walley, public service has been revealed in a lifetime of work to his Gulfport and Mississippi Gulf Coast community.

Growing up in Ward 6, Eddie saw service in action with a father, Charles Ray Walley, Sr., who spent 28 years as a firefighter rising to the rank of Deputy Chief in the Gulfport Fire Department, and served an additional 15 years at the Stennis Space Center Fire Department.

Inspired by his father’s service, after graduating from Harrison Central School, and working trades in construction, Eddie graduated from the Harrison County Law Enforcement Training Academy – a facility he would return to later in his career training future members of law enforcement.

Eddie Walley quickly grew through the ranks of law enforcement as a member of a K9 Unit, Swat Team Operator, K9 Sergeant, Narcotics Investigator, Lieutenant of Narcotics, and eventually Captain of Operations and Training for the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.  Eddie served as a law enforcement officer for 15 years, graduated from the FBI Law Enforcement Command College, was named the Pass Christian Officer of the Year in 2017, and received the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office Medal of Valor in 2020.

While working in law enforcement, Eddie expanded his career of service by honoring his father and graduating from the Mississippi Fire Academy, a service he continues today as a firefighter.

Eddie also currently leads an area Emergency Planning Committee for county government and continues to strive for opportunities to be involved and support our communities.

Today, Eddie continues his career overseeing the Safety & Security Services for the Hancock County School District. The pull of owning his own business led Eddie to learn more about economic development, entrepreneurship, and free enterprise. A graduate of the USM True South Economic Development Course, Eddie started his own company from his home in Orange Grove.

When he is not serving the citizens of Gulfport and other Mississippi Gulf Coast Communities, Eddie spends time with his children Eryn and Blake, and his fiancee, Faith Rhodes Jordan.

Today, whether as a member of law enforcement, a firefighter, or a small business owner, Eddie Walley is best prepared to serve as your City Councilman.

Join your neighbors in supporting a new perspective, fresh ideas, and strong leadership.  Eddie Walley will be a voice for Ward 6, and will work to ensure that our community gets the attention and improvements it deserves.

It’s time for leadership that works for the people.  Let’s move Ward 6 forward with Eddie Walley.
